Getting started

Ann Gadd, born in South Africa in 1958, began her artistic career in 2002 with her first solo exhibition (AVA). In her 25-year career, she has exhibited internationally, including in London, at the Florence Biennale, the Joburg Art Fair, as well as in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast. Gadd's works, which hang in collections worldwide, show a stylistic development from conceptual art and fauvism to pop art, which is visible in series such as "Zulu Lulu" and "Palindromes". With her "Sheep/Ewe" series she founded the Ruminantic Art movement, while the series "Give it Horns" and "Pray. Prey." combine African symbolism and street art influences.
